Wreaths make a wonderful decoration at any time of year, be they made from nature or any other materials. You will be making a sea themed shell wreath with Vanessa Clark aka Stickyness  join us to share her skills to make a lovely sea themed christmas wreath. Get into the Christmas mood with bucks fizz and cake. 

Using ‘Ghost Net’ is fishing net that has been lost or abandoned at sea and they pose a devastating threat to marine and wild life. We are making the wreath from Folkestone ghost net, that I collected on Sandgate and Folkestone beaches.

For this wreath I have used seashells, driftwood and ghost net which are drilled and threaded onto wire and then wrapped net. All the material used I found in Margate and Folkestone. Using fishermans wire, shells, seaglass, pine cones mosaics and locally sourced materials you will be making a stunning shell wreath.

Throughout the workshop we will run through the steps and the mechanics of traditional wreath making to create the perfect ‘everlasting’ Christmas wreath, so lovely you will want to keep it out all year!

COST £40.00 plus  £1.50 booking fee. 

What will we cover?

With a big focus on creativity, shape and form Vanessa will show you how to incorporate sea shells, sea glass,  along with additional ingredients such as feathers.

In a relaxed, friendly manner in my creative studio, surrounded by art and creativity

Do I need any previous experience or skills?

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners.

Are materials provided? Is there anything I need to source myself?

Just turn up and enjoy the session… all materials are provided!

What will I take home with me?

Using locally sourced shells, sea glass and mosaics you will create your own shell wreath to take home. It can be hung on your door or used as a wall hanging. These also make perfect gifts at this time of year.
